I'm only sharing one today- but more will follow. These all have a purpose, I actually had intent when going into this shoot... and I came out of it with 50+ images that I LOVE. I will be bussy, bussy! Oh- and don't tell Alex, but tomorrow it's his turn! I might have to bribe him- I'm open to suggestions there!

sneak peek...
Isabelle's finally turned the corner, I think. She may be going from the "run away from the camera as soon as mommy gets it out" to the "ohh, I love the camera, and the camera LVOES me!" It's like a whole new kid- I actually get EYE CONTACT and she will actually POSE-ish for me! We cleaned the living room together, so that we could tear it appart again to set up my lights the other day. You would have thought she was a MOVIE star! lol. She's getting into dress up and it deffinately helped that I had some fun new "props" for her to play with... though there's a certain umbrella (berella) that I may have lost forever to a certain 3ft tall munchkin, but oh well. For this kind of eye contact, I'll take it!

Las Vegas- oh my!
Well, I have a million pictures to share with you from my WPPI trip to Vegas last week, but the little princess is not too happy with me for spending time on my computer, so I'll share what I've done so far. It was a whirl-wind of a trip, but totally worth it, and SO much fun. I learned alot- not the least of which is 1- stay in the hotel of the convention- walking SUCKS, and 2- wear REALLY good sneakers. I know that things would have been a million times better if I'd just done those two things, but still, it was a great trip. Our hotel was great, nice room, nice place... the kids would have loved it.
We met some really great people, and I DID NOT get pictures of all of them- however, Jacqui was one that we got to know pretty well- and we'll keep in touch with I'm sure. Maybe we'll meet up again next year? This is us- Jacqui, Me, Jen... I should liquify my arms... I should edit the crap out of this picture of me, but I didn't- I'm being brave (or lazy?)
One half of a dinamic duo we had dinner next to- he took the above picture- I promised I'd get his mug up here... I only wish I'd gotten a pic of his lovely fiance!
Ok- so Jen and I took a couple of hours to shop the strip- it was fun, interresting and colorful. This guy was one of the colorful parts- Jen was not so happy with me for taking his pic, but I promise he didn't know I was there... I call it "Portrait of a Gambler"

and "Lost it All"

yup- there I go again with two versions... I swear, I usually can make a decision, but sometimes when I play with an image enough, I like more than one... se la vie.
That's all for now- I've got to get Isabelle fed before she grinds raisins into my keyboard.

10 on Tuesday
1. One of the best things about this week, is that the kids go back to school. By the week before Christmas Vacation I am ready to have them home. Ready to take it easy for a bit and not have to rush around getting them off to school in the mornings. Ready to sleep in, spend the day lounging around, prep for the big christmas morning event... but by the last few days of vacation I am ready for them to go back to school. I am ready for routine, for "me" time- for them to NOT be underfoot all day long.
2. The seccond best thing about this week is that my husband went back to work. Yup, he's been home as long as the kiddos have! While I enjoyed the time spent lounging around, not being productive, watching an obscene number of movies- more than one human should watch in a 2 week period. I am OH SO glad he's out of the house for the majority of the day. I did get to a point where I actually called some of his friends and tried to unload him onto one of them- no one was biting. I could have called him my shadow. Do you know how limiting it is when you have a 6ft man shadow following you around? Thank the lord he works. It could have gotten ugly.
3. I have a new favorite picture of myself- ok, I like it atleast, which is new. I don't normally like pictures of me at all- this one is kind of cool... I took it while testing out my flash set up for the Christmas shoots, and just TODAY got to edit it.

4. My Christmas tree is still up. Yup- I haven't taken it down yet. It's the downside to having a fake tree- it isn't in danger of having all of it's needles fall off the seccond the presents have been unwrapped (which DID happen to me- the last year I had a real tree- I had about 6 inches of pine needles covering my floor in a 4 ft circle). I "plan" to take it down this week. Hey, I need a spot to set up my backdrop so I can play with my new lights!
5. I can share our Christmas card now, since it is now past Christmas and I won't be ruining the suprise for anyone- though I DO have a few that I forgot to pop in the mail sitting on my counter...

6. Oh- we got a new family member for Christmas- the kids picked her out and we brought her home on Dec. 13th! Meet Nala. Currently she's lounging ontop of our router, in her best attempt to over heat it so we'll get of our computers and play with her- or maybe it's just to keep warm and Isabelle hasn't found her yet.

7. We got to see Isabelle in her first school production... it was absolutely adorable. She didn't really pay attention in the first song- she and her little buddy decided they wanted to try to sneak back stage to poke at the baby Jesus in the manger... but the jumping song came up and that focused her attention!

Waiting for the show to start:

8. Isabelle has become obsessed with Karate- she's desperate to join. Every morning she wakes up and starts talking about doing karate today, "because I'm a big girl, I can do Karate now". When I tell her that Master Rexer sais she's got to be 4 to do it she replies "I AM 4!!!" Yah, she's trying to grow up faster already. I'm not sure she'll be my little ballarena but I'm pretty sure she'll be able to kick some butt by the time she's on her own in College. Guess I should have known here:

9. my head is spinning lately- with Logo design ideas, business planning stuff and promotional whatnot... I think I'll be doing a model call in the next few weeks... so if you know of any kids, couples, families, or Moms-to be- keep an eye on the blog for more info there. I'll probably pace myself and do one "type" at a time.
10. Here are a couple of Oldies, but goodies- from 2 years ago!

Hodge Podge
So to say this is a Hodge podge of a post is possibly an understatement. To say that I've been crazy lately is definitely an understatement. But they always make for the most interesting times, don't they? Chaos ensues around me. I'm learning to be zen- whatever that means. I take it to mean "block out the disaster of a house while you proof and order clients pictures" or "step over the crap on your way out the door to buy more crap- er,did I say that? um, I mean Christmas Presents- spread that holiday cheer!"
Yeah, I had a mini melt down this morning when I was trying to gather all my gear to do another shoot at the dealership, get Isabelle fed and out to school (OK, so those McDonald's burritos she loves have been her breakfast way too much lately- I think they know my car at the drive thru) and my dear husband calls from work, like I have NOTHING going on today, and asks me to find all the movies that should have gone back yesterday. Oh, and I got bubble wrap stuck to my foot while I was searching for the stupid movie under all the unmatched socks strewn all over the floor because my darling daughter loves to dump all laundry (folded or not) on the floor. Oh, and that darling husband had to have me "find his socks and a shirt please before I have to leave?" and "could you get those bills out in the mail" while you're at it? Yeah- it was more like a nuclear melt down. Nothing Mini about it. Only Isabelle was there to witness it- though she may be scared for life- or she may have not noticed a thing... A girl can dream, can't she?
OK- so back to the Hodge podge- I have some stuff to share. Like I said, I've been busy lately. I'll share just a few of the images from the MANY I have yet to proof and edit. Alex and I went to NYC (was that last weekend? or the weekend before?- OK, so it was the weekend after Turkey day... whenever that was? It was incredible. I was meant to live in the city- I swear it. I LOVE it there. So did Alex. It was just he and I. We went to see Mary Poppins. I had big plans for the day- FAO Swarz, Central Park, Times Square, the show, the Hard Rock, and the SUBWAY. Yeah, never been on the subway- not sure how it works, how you "do" it. We walked it all in the end- I didn't want either of us to miss a minute of the city. We walked from Macy's to Times Square with a few stops along the way. Wandered over to the square, checked out the hard rock (though it was too busy to get in before our show) took pictures the whole way. I think I'll share some of his in a later post. We didn't do anywhere close to what I'd had planned, but in the end, it was amazing. The show was incredible, the place was magical. The windows at Macy's were beautiful- oh and the Pizza we had for dinner was the best I've ever had.

Also, I've been doing family sessions for the employees at the Dealership. I've had quite a few great images come from these shoots, but I only have a few prepped to share... no back story here though- just images for you. Seriously cute kids though- it's fun taking pics of other peoples' kids- they listen a little better!

Love this- the sky was beautiful- Thanks Rob, for pointing it out to me!

well, I hope you enjoied- I have more to share, just not ready yet. Isabelle had her first Christmas Pageant ever today, so I'm hoping that my pictures from that can be salvaged- I had to use ***hanging head in shame*** on camera flash to get the pictures... so we'll see.
